A space for growth, healing and emotional well-being
Navigate Emotional Challenges and Life Transitions with Confidence
About me
I am Poonam Shenoy, a counseling psychologist in private practice, offering a safe, confidential space for individuals and couples to explore their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. My approach is grounded in empathy, thoughtful listening, and evidence-informed practices including CBT, REBT, ACT, Gottman Couple Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. I work collaboratively, at a pace that suits you, with a focus on meaningful and sustainable change. Before transitioning into psychology, I spent nearly a decade in international banking with HSBC across Dubai and India — an experience that shaped my understanding of professional pressure, conflict resolution, and emotional containment. These themes continue to inform my therapeutic work today. I also collaborate part-time with a maritime wellness organisation, providing mental health support, wellbeing training, and behavioural assessments for seafarers of various nationalities and ranks. I work with NRI clients globally, accommodating counseling sessions across time zones.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of therapy do you offer?
My approach is eclectic — meaning I don't follow a single rigid method. I draw from a range of evidence-informed practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman Couple Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. The approach I use will always depend on your individual needs, goals, and what feels most helpful for you.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can be beneficial for anyone facing stress, emotional difficulties, or significant life changes. If you find yourself struggling with your thoughts or feelings, or if your relationships are suffering, seeking professional support is a proactive step toward understanding and healing.
How does the process of therapy work?
The therapy process begins with an initial consultation where we discuss your concerns and goals. Together, we will create a tailored plan that suits your needs. Throughout our sessions, you will have a safe space to express yourself and explore your thoughts, guided by my expertise. The process is collaborative — we move at a pace that works for you, and the work doesn't stop when the session ends. You will be encouraged to reflect and work on yourself in between sessions, as lasting change often happens in the small, everyday moments.
What are your fees for therapy sessions?
My standard fee for individual and couples therapy sessions is competitive and reflects the level of expertise provided. Please contact me directly for specific pricing information and to discuss any potential options for sliding scale fees if needed.
Do you offer services for couples?
Absolutely. I offer dedicated couples therapy services aimed at improving communication, resolving conflicts, and enhancing emotional connection. Couples can benefit from tailored sessions that focus on their unique dynamics and challenges.
What qualifications do you have?
I am a counseling psychologist (MA in Counseling Psychology) with certified extensive training in various therapeutic modalities, including CBT, REBT, ACT, Gottman Couple Therapy and Trauma Informed Therapy.
